A Complete Review on BSN Syntha 6 Protein Powder

The benefits of protein supplementation have been examined repeatedly over the years. Every time the result is similar: increasing protein intake alongside a strength and conditioning program increases muscular size and strength and helps grow lean body mass while lowering overall weight. It is a supplement that you will need to include in your routine if you consistently train by lifting weights.

In order to improve my conditioning I have decided to implement supplementation. Before making big purchases I have been reviewing many different brands. Today I’m taking a look at BSN Syntha 6.

Syntha 6 was developed by BSN, which has been around since 2001 and is a global leader in the nutrition industry. They have won several awards for their product, which proves they make quality products. There are a lot of reviews on this product, so I’m excited to learn more and share and in depth review with you.

Considered one of the very best protein supplements on the market these days it combines proteins from several sources and includes fast and slow release protein. BSN Syntha combines protein from six different sources, formulated to absorb over time and provide the nutritional boost strength trainees require.

Benefits and drawbacks of Syntha 6

Lets first take a look at both the positive and negative aspects of the product

It’s almost impossible to deny the benefits of protein supplementation for most people. BSN Syntha 6 can, by virtue of its formulation as a high protein supplement lay claim to all of them. Enhanced recovery from workouts, greater lean muscle mass, and weight loss benefits are all present when protein supplementation is made part of a balanced diet. These effects are all enhanced when used alongside a strength training regimen. BSN Syntha 6, when used as directed, does all of this.

The great thing about this powder is you can take it any time of the day. Because, it has the different forms of protein it will digest into your system at different rates. So if you workout in the morning, afternoon or night you can drink this and it will help you recover.

However, that said, there isn’t much more that BSN Syntha 6 can boast about. Most other brands offer additional functional ingredients as part of their formula. Usually these additional ingredients come in the form of creatine or branched-chain amino acids. BSN Syntha 6 does not include them, which may be a benefit or drawback depending on your needs. On one hand, the lack of other nutritionally functional ingredients means that consumers may have to look elsewhere for them. However, this is an ideal situation for those who are looking to keep their supplementation plan as simple as possible.

Because of this Syntha 6 could be described as a complimentary protein, meaning you need to purchase additional supplements to help with recovery. These could include BCAAs, creatine and others.

Syntha 6 Formula and Ingredients Breakout

Syntha 6 describes itself as an ultra-premium lean muscle protein powder. It is a proprietary so you not get a complete break out of all the ingredients. As noted earlier, it combines protein from multiple sources in its formula. All of these sources are naturally occurring and come primarily from milk and eggs. They are: whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, calcium caseinate, micellar casein, milk protein isolate, and egg albumin.

It also includes richmix sunflower powder and nutrisperse MCT powder. The MCT powder blend contains a small amount of sucralose, which is an artificial sweetener which some people can have issue with. The rest of the formula is a pretty standard blend of preservatives for shelf life and flavorings for taste.

You’ll notice in that it includes 200 calories per serving. This a little on the high side compared to other products in the category. So, if you are looking to get lean then this might not be the right protein for you. But if you a looking to add weight then this could be a good thing. You could also drink this as a meal replacement.

22 grams of protein is pretty standard to other products. But you need to look at the types of protein included in the formula. What you’ll notice it does contain \ micellar casein and whey protein isolate but they are not on the top of the list. This means the ultrafiltered whey protein concentrate is the highest form in the blend. This is a lower quality form of protein and something to consider when making a purchase.

How it feels to take BSN Syntha 6

Results from any protein supplement will not be instant, and BSN Syntha 6 is unsurprising in this regard. After taking regularly, however, and in combination with a well-planned strength program, the results are pretty typical for a protein supplement. Increases in recovery potential, lean muscle mass and weight loss over time can all be experienced with BSN Syntha 6.

From all of the reviews online many people complained about having a lot of gas from taking this product. So you might want to beware of this. The other areas where consumers may feel effects are if they have trouble digesting egg or milk proteins. Because BSN Syntha 6 uses these kinds of protein, some people also experience the bloating from taking it.

So is Syntha 6 Right for you?

BSN Syntha 6 comes with all the benefits of protein supplementation, but without any added benefits or function. This may good for you or not depending on your needs. Again, if all you are looking for is a standard protein supplement without anything fancy or extra this might work for you. But if you need more than just protein, or have trouble digesting egg or milk protein, or are sensitive to sucralose, then you may need to look elsewhere. From my research I think I’m going to hold off on this one for a while. There are much better options out there with more value for the price. Thanks for reading along!
